I frequently get asked questions from other stampers and friends who are fascinated that I not only make my own cards but have turned my hobby into a business.
Ask me your questions here and I'll answer them in a future post. For those that post a question here, I'll use random.org to pick a winner that will win a sample pack of papers (the more questions that are asked, the more paper I'll include...I want LOTS of questions!). Other demonstrators are more than welcome to participate!*
Where do you keep all of your stamping stuff?
I have a great room in our well-lit, windowed walk-out basement that is dedicated to my stamping hobby and business. My office area is upstairs with the rest of of my computer gear, but my creative space is all in my studio downstairs (which doesn't feel like a downstairs!). I also have tables set up just for stamping in the main room downstairs for classes and for stamping with my 5-year-old son, who loves to stamp. Oh, and I don't want to forget that we have a guest house that is perfect for a stamp camp or for your own mini stamping retreat of up to 6 people to sleep and stamp in!
Which is your favorite Stampin’ Up! stamp set?
You mean this minute? That's a tough question since I have so many and my favorite changes so often! I really like Trendy Trees and Branch Out, but my all-time standard has to be Lovely as a Tree. It's so versatile with regards to occasions, techniques, and types of projects. I recommend that you have that stamp on hand!
Have you always been crafty?
I guess so, even if I resisted it when I was a teenager...I get it from my mom. She had me stamping starting in about 1983 and got me back into it recently. Between that I was into cross-stitching, quilting (big-time), then scrapbooking. To me, scrapbooking and stamping are a lot like quilting, but it doesn't take as long to make your art with paper as it does fabric!
(1986, 3 years after I started stamping!)
What tool can't you live without?
Another tough question! You can't forget the workhorses like your paper trimmer (I prefer the Tabletop Paper Cutter) and your adhesives that you use every time, but if I didn't have any punches I'd be lost! I use a punch on nearly every project I think!
OK, let me have it...ask me lots of questions so I can give away a prize!
