Pop-up Card

I've had a great weekend! Teresa and Dean have been here and we've had a lot of fun! Here's a popup card she taught me to make (mine is the one on the left using the Seasonal Whimsy stamp and the poppin' pastels technique).

Teresa and I met on SCS after I noticed her motorcyle avatar and my husband realized her photo was taken here in the Black Hills. After a lot of messaging and meeting during the Sturgis Rally at Hog Heaven, her and Dean have returned to see the Custer Park Buffalo Roundup. We did some stamping, they toured Spearfish Canyon for the fall colors, and we capped the weekend off with a campfire here at the house. We thoroughly enjoyed having them here (including my son, who had so much fun!). Very generous and nice people! Oh, and there was the dinner at The Alpine Inn (not to be missed), and pie from the Purple Pie Place (yum!). And I'm not sure if Dean volunteered or got roped into it, but our wood stove chimney on our really high roof is now clean (sorry for the soot explosion!), and we also have a good start to a load of firewood! At least the guys got some ATV riding in.
I'll have more photos from the weekend, so stay tuned. Thanks for a great weekend Teresa and Dean! We're so glad you came up! Thanks for EVERYTHING!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Bitty Basics Leaf Top Note Journal

Here's a Top Note Bigz Die journal that my sister made when she was here (or did I make it? I don't remember!)...retired Wild Wasabi DSP and ribbon, Chocolate Chip CS and Taffeta ribbon, 1/4" Whisper White grograin ribbon, DSP package cardboard backing, large eyelet, and the leaf stamp from the Bitty Basics hostess stamp set make the journal that was bound using my Bind-It-All.

We were adhering the paper to the thin cardboard with an Anywhere Glue Stick before running it through the Big Shot with the Top Note Bigz Die. No matching edges later, then! The book is filled with lined notebook paper, also cut with the Top Note die.

If you would like to take a moment to brighten the day of one of these caretakers, please go to Cammie's blog to find out how, and make sure that you enter her ginormous blog candy giveaway, too!

I didn't realize how dark it had gotten when I took this picture! Sorry about that!

Thank you to all that care for our loved ones afflicted with Alzheimers. You are appreciated so much.

Take care,

Hostess Club Wish Lists

I made everyone in our Hostess Club a wish list booklet with matching pens to put in their spiral bound catalog's clear page protector in the back. The page protector is also meant for sale flyers and Mini Catalogs. I had Office Depot bind the catalogs and they also cut the junior steno pads for the wish lists.I used Kraft CS and retired Patterns DSP. The stamped images are from Pocket Silhouettes and are embossed in white EP and then glittered up with Dazzling Diamonds. The RSVP pens are from Walmart and have a tube of matching DSP in them to make them match!

I got the idea from Jill's Card Creations. Thanks Jill!

NHFCU Hostess Club Kickoff Party Projects

Last night we had our first NHFCU Hostess Club! Here are the projects we made:

The owl party favor uses the Top Note Bigz Die, Birds and Blooms flower die, My Way punch(cutting the arrow tail off for the beak), Scallop Circle, 1" and 1/2" circle punches, and the Small Cello Bags.

The Scaredy Cat card uses the Weathered Background stamp (retired, but I HAD to use it!) and the Batty for You stamp set. Punches are Scallop Circle and Spiral, Cardstock is Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Whisper White and Ghostly Greetings DSP. The ribbon is 1/4" Basic Black grosgrain. Inks: Basic Black, White Signo Gel Pen.

And, the popcorn ball holder uses the Eat, Drink, and Be Scary stamp set from the Mini Catalog coming out October 1st. I made the broom from a bamboo skewer, some Linen Thread, and Tombow Multi Adhesive. The wide oval punch makes a window for the popcorn ball, which is held in place by Mini Glue Dots.

We had a great time!

Thanks for looking!

Thankful Pillow Box

I love how quickly projects can be made with the new Stampin' Up! Big Shot. This is the pillow box die made with some retired Patterns DSP and adorned with some Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and a tag punched image from the Thoroughly Thankful stamp set that I colored with blender pens and classic inks. An Old Olive brad finishes it off.

I used Sticky Strip to seal up the edges (just don't forget to add treats before sealing both ends like I did!).
Happy Monday,
Michelle

Stationery Set Gift

This set was really fun to make! I used retired Ginger Blossom DSP, River Rock CS, and Groovy Guava CS, and the retired stamp set Carte Postale. The ribbon, Wild Wasabi double-stitched, and address book plate, pewter Hodgepodge Hardware, is also retired. The Kraft and Really Rust CS isn't retired! (You can see that I'm trying to get over my hoarding by using retired stuff!)

Anyway, I love this set and even customized the RSVP pen with some Ginger Blossom DSP in the clear tube after I photographed it, but the whole thing is a wedding gift, so I don't get to keep it! Guess I'll have to make another one...
If you want to make one, here is a link to Jackie Topa's tutorial!

List for Santa

Isn't this cute? I love the new stamp set A Holly, Jolly Christmas and the Top Note books I've been making with my Bind-It-All! I used the new gorgeous Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla two-sided ribbon and Chocolate Chip Felt Fusion flower with a rhinestone brad to decorate the cover. Santa himself is glossed up with some Crystal Effects. The cardstock is Riding Hood Red, and the ink is the same plus Kiwi Kiss, with edges daubed in Chocolate Chip. I used my Crop-o-Dile to set that large eyelet.

This little journal is now in the capable hands of Charlie, who placed my first online order! I have 2 more top note books in different designs for the next two online orders of $50 or more. You know you want one!

Thanks for looking,

Theresa & Betty's Workshop Card

I had a great time at Theresa and Betty's workshop yesterday! Here's the card we made, using the Upsy Daisy stamp set, Boho Blossoms punch, and Top Note Bigz Die. The paper is Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, and Parisian Summer DSP.

We use the Sponge Daubers to add Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, and Kiwi Kiss to the Pink Pirouette-inked stamp. We also added some Riding Hood Red to the Pink Pirouette blossom cutout with an Aqua Painter to give it a little more color. The brad is Ruby Red from the Earth Elements brads.

We also made a 6x6 scrapbook page, which I'll show in another post...

Stay tuned!

Notecard Folio

I just had to try this Notecard Folio I saw on Gretchen Barron's blog, Inpsiration in Action. She gives a wonderful tutorial and has a whole album of folios!

I used Summer Picnic DSP and the Tart & Tangy stamp set, with Bashful Blue, Real Red, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, and Pumpkin Pie CS and matching inks. The ribbons are Pumpkin Pie 1/2" striped grosgrain on the cover, 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain inside, and 3/8" Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon on the notecards. The sentiment is from Always and I used my Scallop Edge, Scallop Square, corner rounder, and 1-1/4" square punches. Crystal Effects added to the fruit finishes it off!
Thanks for the inspiration Gretchen!

Topnote Books

My sister and her boys came up and we had a sleepover so the cousins could play, and so could we! Steph brought her Cricut and some movies to watch. We were so busy we totally forgot to put any movies in while we were in my craft studio all evening Saturday and a good part of Sunday too. We made quite a few things, including these cool little books (planners, holiday journals, teacher journal, etc.):

I had seen them on SCS Saturday and knew that I had to make them ASAP! We used the cardboard backing sheet from a DSP paper pack as our cover base, then adhered some DSP to the cardboard rectangle using Anywhere Glue Stick. Then, we cut each front and back cover out using the Top Note Bigz die, along with some plain white or lined paper sheets for the pages. We punched holes and set large eyelets for the ribbon tie using my Crop-o-Dile Big Bite, then bound it all with the Bind-It-All (ha ha).

These would make great mini albums, gifts, or door prizes!

Hope you all had a great long weekend. I'll show more projects we made next post.

Michelle
