November Stampin' Up! Hostess Club Project

This month for our Hostess Clubs we used the Sponging and Masking Techniques on our projects.  For this card, we masked over the leaf shape, stamped from the Best Wishes & More stamp set, used shimmer spray made from Shimmer Paint, and the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper and the Wandering Words stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

If you'd like to join or start a Hostess Club in the Rapid City or Black Hills area, contact me and we'll work out the details!

What is a Hostess Club? It's a great way to budget and build up your Stampin' Up! supplies by getting together at least 6 of your friends for the club and meeting each month to learn new techniques while making a few projects. You meet once a month until everyone has been the hostess, ordering a minimum of $25 in Stampin' Up! product while taking turns being the hostess and getting the Hostess Rewards for your month!

To see the other card we made tonight at one of my Hostess Clubs, you'll have to go to my 2stampis2b Facebook page and click "Become a Fan!"

Hostess Club Card - Masking & Sponging

If you're a member of one of my Rapid City/Black Hills Hostess Clubs, this is the kind of project we do once a month.  In fact, this card was one of last night's projects!  I CASEd this card from Michelle Zindorf, who is a master at brayering and sponging.  Isn't it cool?

If you'd like to join or start a Hostess Club in the Rapid City or Black Hills area, contact me and we'll work out the details!

Creepy Stampin' Up! Flower Folds

Don't be scared, open it!

BOO!

I didn't realize how cool the Flower Folds Bigz XL Die was until I saw it at Convention.  The folded flower fits into the Bitty Box (another Bigz XL Die, but I don't have it to show you) to make a beautiful blooming flower gift.

The die has 4 flowers on it, each a different size with crease marks on the petals so that you can fold and layer each one like I've done on my 5" x 5" Halloween card.

To maximize the use of my 12" x 12" sheet of Cast-a-Spell Designer Series Paper (since the pieces to be cut on the die are altogether longer than 12"), I cut the 12" x 12" paper the width of the die at 5-3/4" and then cut an 8-1/2" piece off that 12" length.  The 8-1/2" x 5-3/4" piece was placed over the larger flowers and the remaining 3-1/2" x 5-3/4" piece was angled to fit over the 2 smaller flowers, and I snipped off the overhanging corners so it would go through my Big Shot machine without catching.

I alternated the two-sided Designer Series Paper when I layered the 4 flowers on my card and offset each one's petals to give the spooky bloom some interest.
