Customize Your Rhinestone Brad Colors

I love Stampin' Up! rhinestone brads! I especially love that we now have clear ones in addition to the 8 colors we already carry, because that makes them easy to customize in the exact color you need. I needed a Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss brad, so here's what I did:

1. I found a piece of styrofoam and poked the Clear Rhinestone Brads into it. Then I applied a drop of Crystal Effects on the rhinestone.

2. Next, I put just one quick drop of Reinker ink onto the crystal effects. The ink will spread on its own, but if you're a tinkerer, you can use the head of a pin to mix it around.

3. Let it dry several hours, and this is what you'll have!

Sale-a-Bration is nearly over. Have you place a $50 order yet to earn your free stamp set, Designer Series Paper, or Ribbons? Hurry and do so now at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net/ and click the Shop Now button. Choose me, Michelle Tech, as your demonstrator to get the best pricing.

Rich Pocket Silhouette Colors

What would I do without Jean's "guest spot" on my blog lately? I know that you are loving her creations as much as I am. Pocket Silhouettes is one of my favorite stamp sets!

I love how she created her own designer paper by stamping green on green.

TIP: You can do this either with the matching ink color, which is so easy with Stampin' Up!s color families, or you can also create a monotone effect with clear VersaMark ink on any color of paper.
Thanks Jean!

New Blog & E-mail Addresses

I have a new blog address and e-mail address! They are much simpler to remember now:

http://www.2stampis2b.com/

michelle@2stampis2b.com

The old ones still work, but these are easier!

Here's your daily inspiration, provided by my friend Charlie, who gave these cute Easter baskets to us last weekend when she and her S.O. were here for the Trendy Trees Necklace & Earrings Gift Set Class and for some serious birding photography.

Aren't they adorable? Thanks Charlie! Yep, that candy is long gone now...

Peeps!

I'm seeing Peeps marshmallows in the stores and it made me think of the Birds & Blooms die set!

I went with the bright Peeps colors of YoYo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise, and Pink Passion, even using those colors to stamp on the Kraft paper, knowing that they'd show up, no question!
Love that little die-cut bird and his 3D wings!

Go iRush!

We love our new Rapid City Rush (gold rush, Mt. Rushmore, get it?) Central Hockey League team!

My little guy and I made this sign for our St. Patrick's game and got put on the Jumbotron (inhouse big screen TV) with it! He was grinning from ear to ear when he saw himself up there!
Right before we left home for the game, I printed the page on 12 x 12 paper in my wide carriage printer then glued it with Tombow Glue to a chipboard backing sheet from a pack of Designer Series Paper. In the car on the way to town to hurry and get to the game I glued the dime store green glitter on the R with Tombow glue. Not too bad for about a 5-minute idea right before leaving!
All I'm going to do is print this photo my husband took of us and put in on the sign, then call it a scrapbook page! I also applied the glitter tattoos that we were wearing. A little journaling will finish it off.
Well, our weather forecast over the next few days is 30-40 inches of heavy, wet spring snow, so I'll try to get some posts ready to go on autopilot since that's a sure bet for several days without power. If I don't respond you'll know that we're keeping the wood stove going, cooking over it or grilling outside, and occasionally running the generator to make coffee!

Stamping is Cheaper

Here's a nice springy card my friend Jean made. Thanks for sharing Jean!

Why Stamping is Cheaper (and easier)

or

When you care enough to send the very best – stamp it yourself!

From Jan Grant, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator:

"Imagine its 7:00 P.M. the night before your husband’s birthday. He’s been out of town all week on a business trip, but will return at 11:00 tonight. You ordered his present a month ago, but with working full time, taking the kids to practices, games and school functions while he’s been gone, you just haven’t had time to shop for a card. You could pull the kids away from their favorite T.V. show all the while trying to convince them that going to the store to “get something for daddy” (in a store where they can’t touch anything) will be “fun.” Fight with them to put their snowsuits, hats and mittens on. Trudge through three feet of snow in your driveway carrying the baby and holding on to the other two while trying to find your keys in the bottom of your purse. Stuff all three kids into their respective car seats. Listen to them yell “stop touching me” for five miles while you drive to the Mall. Get the closest parking space you can to the entrance for the Hallmark store (approximately three miles away). Carry the baby while holding on to the three-year old and trying not to fall on the ice underneath the snow. Meantime, yell at the six-year old not to climb the snow piles left by the snow clearing operation. Trudge into the store, approximately another mile from the entrance to the mall, while all three children whine about how hot they are, tired they are and how they want you to carry them. Sit the two youngest down in the aisle nearest the “husband” cards while you continually admonish the oldest “don’t touch” the pretty cards. Do I need to go on?

OR . . . If you’re lucky you have Stampin’ Up!® supplies at the ready. Make a card from your heart for your husband. Spend the rest of the time watching your children’s favorite T.V. show with them.

Total time to drive to the store and pick out a card: about 1 ½ - 2 hours.

Total time to make a card from the heart: about 15 minutes.

Cost for a Hallmark card $3.50-$5.00.

Cost for a Stampin’ Up®! card (with envelope) $.81.

Time spent snuggling with your children – priceless.

And no one else will have a card anything like the one you made from your heart!"

4 Seasons Calendar Kit for Sale by Mail

I love calendars! Isn't this desk calendar cute?

I have just 2 kits left, which include all of the paper cut to size and the printed 2009 calendar strips. All you need to provide is the SNAIL Adhesive, Scallop Circle and 1-3/8" Circle punches, ink, and stamp set (as a demonstrator I am not allowed to include stamped images). I used A Tree for All Seasons on this sample, which is retired, but I recommend the Best Wishes & More stamp set if you don't have it (see below). Also included in the kit are the instructions for putting your calendar together, and the link to the calendar strips with instructions on resizing and printing it.

Hurry before they're all gone! The price is $8.95 and includes shipping in the US only.

Charlie's Cute Treat Boxes, Cold Weather/Hot Cat

Charlie made these adorable treat boxes and shared the photos with me, and I can't keep them to myself!

These are great little Easter treat boxes! Good job Charlie!

Here is what I woke up to off my bedroom deck on Tuesday morning. And, the power had gone out at about 6:00 am. Not a huge surprise, but it was about 10 below zero! Hubby got the fire going good and hot for us so we were fine. I love snow, and this kind of thing just makes it more of an adventure.

Our old kitty (18 or 19, I can't remember now!) loves to cook by the fire, so he was oblivious to the plowing that needed to be done outside.

Keep warm and stamp away today!
