Shrink Plastic Wine Glass Charms

Sorry for the dark photo, but you get the idea I hope. These wine charms were made by stamping on Shrink Plastic with Black or Green StazOn ink, then I colored them in if necessary with Bic permanent colored markers. I punched a 1/8" hole at the top for threading through the pre-made wine charms with colored balls on them that I found at our Target Dollar Spot. To shrink, hold your paper piercer or similar tool (a large needle would work) in the hole over a heat-proof surface, then heat with your Heat Tool until it is completely done shrinking. It will flip all over the place while shrinking, but if you hold it down so it doesn't blow away it will not stick to itself.

I used the Holiday Trinkets and Spotlight on Christmas stamp sets. My sister got these for Christmas from me, along with some homemade bath fizzies and a jar of homemade olive oil salt scrub and a retired stamp set. Mom got the same from me in a different scent, but instead of the wine charms she got a handmade desktop calendar.
Dad and my brother-in-law each got a Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit! I hope they use them!
Thanks for stopping by!

Bathing Santa Ornament

I don't remember now where I got this idea...please speak up if it's yours so I can give you credit! Edited to add that it's Lorri Heiling! She had this on her blog and it was so darn cute, I just had to CASE it! Thanks Lorri!

I covered a 4x4 chipboard coaster with Real Red DSP using Anywhere Glue Stick after inking up the coaster edges with Real Red Classic Ink. The belt buckle on the 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon was made by punching 2 Horizontal Slot Punch slots and then cutting the Brushed Silver CS down to a square. I attached a Round Tab Punch piece in Basic Black (stamped by painting the words only on the Curly Label Punch Bundle Christmas stamp, then heat embossed in Silver EP) to the photo using SNAIL adhesive. After attaching the photo with the Round Tab Punch to the coaster, I adhered the ribbon and buckle with SNAIL, then clipped the ribbon-topped binder clip to the top.

This could be hung on the Christmas tree, a bulletin board, or if you were to attach a magnet to the back, on the fridge. Make sure to write the year on the back!

Christmas Card from Jeannie

Jeannie, a friend of mine in Omaha, sent this Christmas card this year! She's an avid stamper and was making handmade Stampin' Up! cards to send at Christmas long before I was. It's gorgeous!

Thanks Jeannie!

Christmas Mice

Here's a Christmas take on the mice cards made with the Pick-a-Petal stamp set. I stamped the santa hats from the Deer Friends set and cut them out. The sentiment tails are from the Window Dressing set. A pom pom on the hats and a Martha Stewart snowflake with mica glitter rounds out the decorations, along with the Silver Elastic Cord bows on the tails. The cheese holes were made with the 3/4" Circle Punch.

I got my hands on a Marvy snowflake and Martha Stewart snowflake punch! Here is a punched Santa (CASEd from Lindsey Sasseville, if I remember right...correct me if I'm wrong please!). I covered the snowflakes with Martha Stewart mica glitter.

I just have a few more holiday cards to share, even though Christmas is over. It won't feel like the holidays are over for me until the new year!

Juggling Snowballs

Did you keep all the snowballs in the air while juggling everything before Christmas Day?

This card from Old Olive, Basic Black and Kraft CS was made with a retired stamp set called It's Snow Time. I colored the snowman in with an Aquapainter and some Whisper White Craft Ink and some other Classic Ink colors for the details. The snowballs are mini pompoms that I attached with Mini Glue Dots. The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White EP.
I think he's cute!
Enjoy your day,

Holiday Icons

Mom gave me this set a few years ago and I do not know the name of it, but it's pretty cool! I stamped the border stamp in Whisper White Craft Ink on Not Quite Navy cardstock then embossed it in White EP. Then I wheeled the center in VersaMark ink with the matching wheel stamp. The icons were stamped in Earth Elements Craft Ink and embossed in Clear EP, then cut out with Paper Snips and affixed with a Stampin' Dimensional.

I doubt that I'll ever let go of this set! Thanks Mom!
See you all tomorrow,
Michelle

20% Off Love You Much Bundle

If you're like me, sometimes it's hard to wait for something new, but this month you can get your hands on new Stampin' Up! products before they come out in the catalog!

It seems early to be thinking of Valentine's Day, the biggest card-sending occasions of the year, but if you order this bundle the day it is available, Tuesday, December 23rd, you can also take advantage of the last day of the free shipping on orders over $70 offer too! Maybe you've got a few retired stamps on your list that are also on sale for 10% off through that day to add to your order and reach the free shipping level?

It's easy to order online anytime at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net with the Shop Now button.

Click the image above to see a full-size version of the pdf flyer.

In addition to Valentine's Day cards, here are some more ideas for projects you can make using the Love You Much Bundle:
  • Little candy containers using the Sizzix Pillow Box die and Candy Lane Designer Series paper.
  • Handmade Valentine's Day boxes for school or home.
  • Candy bouquets with stamped accents.
  • Candy jar with a Designer Series paper belly band and stamped tag.

  • A decorated photo frame.
  • A Valentine's gift wrapped in Candy Lane Designer Series paper.
  • Confetti made from punched out hearts; good for putting on tables or beds, or in a cello bag as filler.

Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit Sorry Card

Here's a sorry card from my Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit. I absolutely love the Puns from the Past stamp set! If you don't know it, that's an old-fashioned typewriter eraser! I Used Kraft, Whisper White, and Cameo Coral cardstock, along with some DSP from the Hostess set of paper. Inks are Basic Brown, Chocolate Chip, and Cameo Coral applied with a Blender Pen to the eraser. A touch of 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon finished off this simple card.

You won't be happy if your hubby has to give you this, but won't you feel better that he at least recognized he messed up? Ha!
See you tomorrow,
Michelle

Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit Anniversary Card

This card, part of my Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit, would work nicely as an anniversary card.

I first cut the Top Note shape out of the Sweet Always DSP with my Big Shot, then I stamped the Always bird in VersaMark ink then heat embossed it with Clear EP. I used a sponge dauber and some Close to Cocoa Classic Ink to sponge in circles over the bird. That filled in the flower detail in the stamped bird and shadowed around the image, leaving the bright DSP behind it. I thought it turned out really cool!

Stay warm,

Michelle

Santa Treats

I made a few of these cute santa candy cane holders for my son's kindergarten class party. I cut out the Real Red CS with an oval Nestabilities die and used the Slit Punch to thread the candy cane through.

To make his boots black, I first inked up the stamp in Real Red Classic Ink, then quickly wiped off the red boots with a paper towel, then colored them in with the Black Stampin' Write Journaler before stamping him on Whisper White cardstock. I managed to quickly cut around each during my son's school music program from the orchestra and all the way through preschool and up to the 5th grade performances before his class performed the finale!

I also had time while waiting during the program to attach him to the nestie oval with a Stampin' Dimensional and adhere the pom pom to his hat with a Mini Glue Dot!

I think they were a hit with the kids at the party!

Charlie, You Made My Day!

Look at all the cool stuff my friend Charlie sent us! I am so lucky! We got 3 decorated candy canes, a package of Candy Cane Seeds, a beautifully stitched snowman card, some really cute Santa candy bars, and 3 gorgeous gourds that Charlie painted!

Charlie and I have birding in common, can you tell?

How cute is this little guy?

If you'd like to see more of Charlie's work, including stamped and painted items, go to http://charliescraftroom.com:80/portfolio_RubberStamp2.htm and have a look around! I am nuts about her work, especially the gourd paintings!

If you'd like to see her action (for whatever she brings to work on), she's signed up for retreat in January! Come have fun with us all!
Thanks so very much Charlie, very cool!

Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit

I read about this idea over on www.SplitCoastStampers.com and just had to make it. It's a kit of 6 cards for a husband to give his wife throughout the year to keep him out of the doghouse. I printed out a table for him to write in the dates so as not to forget her birthday, their anniversary, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day, and there's a card for "just because" and one for "I'm sorry." The cards are packaged in a custom-made Kraft and acrylic box, and the clear lid is decorated wtih the Cheers to You beer mug image. I used some black StazOn ink and a clear alphabet stamp set I had to stamp the "Husband's 6-Pack Survival Kit" on the clear lid.

I'm thinking these would make a great Christmas gift for a few guys I know, especially if accompanied with a real 6-pack of beer!

I'll be showing you some closeups of the cards in subsequent posts.

Have a great day!

Desktop Calendar

Here are a few desktop calendars I made out of an acrylic photo frame from Wal-Mart. I slipped a piece of DSP in the frame, turned it over, then Sticky Stripped the MS Publisher-printed wallet calendar on the front (2 brads fasten the calendar together), added a small stack of post-its, a customized RSVP pen with a tube of DSP in the barrel that is held on by a piece of ribbon that is stuck in between the plastic with some Sticky Strip. Some ribbon, die-cut blooms, and felt fusion flowers attached with brads decorate the top.

Easy peasy!

Candy Kabobs

At club we did two projects: Tile Coasters (a big hit!) and these Christmas Candy Kabobs that I first saw on Andrea Walford's wonderful blog:

We used the 2 greens from the Ski Slope DSP and Olive Olive CS, each color punched from the 3 different sizes of circle punches that Andrea recommends. And we used the Large Star Punch as I don't have the small one. For another variation, you could spear foil-wrapped Reeses cups or any other favorite Christmas candy on the bamboo skewer.

Are these cute or what? We had a very fun time making our projects and sampling all the potluck holiday food everyone brought. Mom took the lead on the tile project and we did them a little different this time by using Clear Embossing Powder over the craft ink instead of spraying acrylic sealer over them. They look really cool! Everyone made a set of 4 tiles to keep or give as a gift. I think some of you are even going to go into Christmas gift production with the tiles, huh?

The other fun thing we did that the Club gals came up with was brought a Christmas card to exchange. We had a nice variety and got some great ideas, and everyone went home with a different card! Here's a photo of the whole batch:

Good job girls!

See you tomorrow!
