Now that you've had time to digest the Occasions Mini Catalog, I'd like to show you a card I made (18 times) for a swap with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I can let the cat out of the bag since it has gone postal and is on its way to Teresa.
Isn't it cute? I used the Forest Friends stamp set as my focal set, and then the Oval All set for the greeting. I made my prototype, then one for myself to keep and 16 more to send off for swapping. I'll get a set of 15 different cards back, all using different sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog so that I can show you lots of different ideas at your workshop or any of my other events. Here is the assembly line:
And here they are, all lined up for their 15 minutes of fame:

By the way, the owl is red to honor the little "town" my dad grew up in: Red Owl! The "town" has a Post Office/Store, the garage Grandpa owned where cars and tractors for miles around were fixed and filled with fuel, and "The Hall" where the widespread ranching community met for cowboy dances and life events. Granny and Ga (my grandmother and great-grandmother) had a little building with a kiln in it where they made ceramics, including red owls made into toothpick holders, figurines, you name it! I remember spending time out there in the country with them: gardening, canning, watching them make bread every day, and painting ceramics. Do they still make ceramic paint that turns fuzzy when you fire it? That was my favorite. I guess my crafty days go back farther than I thought!
Forest Friends would be a great set to get your involved in stamping with! Be the mom or aunt or sister or grandma that inspires creativity in someone's life for years to come.
