Correcting Dark Digital Photos

I learned a few incredible photography tricks yesterday that have changed my blogging life! Kristina Werner had a link to Lisa Spangler's post on custom White Balance settings on your camera and taking the gray out of your digital photos. I did both things, and the results are amazing!

Around Christmas time I got a new Nikon D90, a great digital SLR. I signed up for the community education class right away, but it was sold out. I have been disappointed with my dark photos since day 1. I knew I needed to take time to delve in the camera's manual or take a class, but have time for neither. Then I found Lisa's simple instructions. I still had to follow my own camera manual for the White Balance setting, but her Photoshop instructions took it even further.

Take, for instance, yesterday's photos. So dingy and dark. Not today! Just look at them now! Scroll down to yesterday's post (you'll have to click over to my blog if you're reading this via e-mail subscription) and see the difference. Amazing, huh?

I'm so excited to be able to bring your vibrant, colorful photos now like I've never had before!
