Taking scrapbook photos

Have you ever not taken a photograph because you just knew it wouldn't turn out?  I have.  But last weekend when we went to the Short Track Races (flat track motorcycle races...I grew up at the race track at my Dad's side in Sturgis, home of the Sturgis Rally, so it stands to reason why I love motorsports of all kinds!), I decided to just take the photo, even though I told myself the lights would goof up the sunset and storm clouds behind.  I have a Nikon D90 digital SLR, but am clueless on how to use it, as the community ed class I was going to take was sold out.  I use the automatic settings dial and get by.

What turned out actually is kind of striking.  It won't win any awards, but I think it's cool enough to put on a scrapbook page.

Even if you doubt yourself, take the picture anyway.  You might be surprised!
