Ask Michelle Answers Returns III

Back in this post, several of you asked me questions, and I'm here to give you the rest of the answers. Today I'll be answering Chell's questions, and she had several!

Q: Great blog! My questions....

1. Do you send your cards to people or do you make and hoard?

2. If someone was just starting out and wanted SU products, what would you suggest they start with?

3. What do you like better...making cards or creating projects?

4. If you could come back to life as a SU product, what would you be?

A: Hi Chell! Funny thing...my nickname (to my Mom and grandparents anyway) is Chell! We match! Thanks for your questions. I'll answer them in the order given.

1. I definitely send my cards! Of course, I do hoard some to keep on my sample board that I take to workshops, classes, and retreat/other events, but when I make something new and wonderful, it goes up on the board and the one that comes down goes straight into my Forget-Me-Not box to be sent out.

2. For anyone just starting out in stamping, I recommend the basic supplies that come in the Starter Kit...Card Stock, stamp sets, Classic Ink Pads (one being Basic Black!), Stampin' Scrub & Mist, Blender Pens, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Pastels, a Stampin' Around Wheel & Handle, and a Decor Element! The Stampin' Memories Add-on gives you 12" x 12" Card Stock, a Simply Scrappin' Kit, an alphabet stamp set, Stampin' Write marker, and a Craft Stampin Pad.

Wanna know a secret? If you want all of this stuff, you might as well go ahead and get the Starter Kit, because you get about a 60% discount on the products in the kit if you do! And, it's customizable...you pick the stamp sets and ink colors and Simply Scrappin' Kit! After that, you get a 20% discount on everything else! If your friends and family order from you, you could earn your Stampin' Up! stuff for free! If you decide to make a business out of it, you could earn enough to pay bills, and you could earn a free vacation each year with Stampin' Up! And there's so much more...convention, other events, incentives, pre-orders before stuff is available to the public, ! Honestly, if you're going to order Stampin' Up! product, I don't see a downside to getting the Starter Kit!

3. OK, next answer: I love making cards AND projects. I suppose it depends on the current project or card to be able to pick which I like to make best. I did have a blast making my 12-Month Scrapbook Kit! It's been a hot item, both the kit form and the instructions, so I think others are liking it as well!

4. Now, for Chell's last question, which cracked me up!

If I could come back to life as a Stampin' Up! product, what would I be? That's EASY! A Big Shot Machine! I would be loved, used, and appreciated! Crank my handle...here's a beautiful cutout for you! Turn my handle again and I'll give you a lovely texture, transforming that solid cardstock into a piece of art! Give me another turn and I can cut out AND emboss at the same time! I make it so simple for you to be great, don't I? Don't you just LOVE ME?!!!

Thanks for the great questions Chell!
