What's your favorite Stampin' Up! Big Shot Die? Mine has to be the new Mini Milk Carton in the Occasions Mini Catalog. It's such a cute little thing that is super easy to make and fun to embellish! In fact, thirty-two of us made this little gem at my Winter Stampin' Retreat last weekend and it was a hit. Here's how you make them:
- Cut the Mini Milk Carton from a half sheet of Rose Red Card Stock using your Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and the Stampin' Up! Mini Milk Carton Bigz L die, and assemble using Sticky Strip, beginning with the side flap. The instructions are the back of the label that come with the die!
- Tie a 16" length of 5/8" Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon around the Mini Milk Carton and trim the ends.
- Run a 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock through the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and your Big Shot Machine. The cool thing about Embosslits is that they cut AND emboss your shapes all at once! Attach your butterflies in a flourish on your Mini Milk Carton with Mini Glue Dots.
- For the posie, you are going to create your own "felted paper" by punching a scrap of Taken with Teal Card Stock with your 1-1/4" Circle Punch and a scrap of Pretty in Pink Card Stock with your 1" Circle Punch. Scrunch each circle in your hand and flatten, then repeat a few times to really distress the circles and wrinkle them up good. Now with your bone folder and your thumb, pull both sides of each circle all around and on both sides, just like you are curling gift wrap ribbon. You'll notice that the Card Stock is starting to pull apart into 2 layers, which is exactly what you want to do...pull them apart from one point (don't work around the circle, just pull apart from one point). You now have 4 circles of felted paper!
- With Mini Glue Dots, layer two of the felted circles together and add a Certainly Celery Sherbet Designer Button that you've tied a Linen Thread bow through. Attach to the side of your Mini Milk Carton with a Mini Glue Dot.
- Pinch the top of the Mini Milk Carton and close with a 1/2" Library Clip and there you go!
- Filled with candy or some other small treat, this Mini Milk Carton makes a very cute party favor or gift!
