My Story
I have been stamping since about 1983! I was in high school then, but let’s not count how many years ago that was! Thanks to my mother, I then learned to quilt while in college working towards my Chemical Engineering degree. Once I graduated and got a job in Omaha as an Environmental Engineer, I really immersed myself in quilting as a hobby. Since we moved back home again to the Black Hills here in South Dakota in 2000 and had our son in 2003, scrapbooking took over as the frontrunner hobby to catch all of those precious moments in time.
In 2008 during Sale-a-Bration I attended a Stamp Camp with my mom and sister at my friend Laurel's house and found stamping again. I was enjoying it so much that I created my own stamping blog, a relatively new idea at the time. A few months later I called my mom's long-time Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Joyce, and told her that I wanted to sign up! She had no idea I was thinking about it (and neither did I until that day!).
I have since discovered that I love teaching others how to stamp and scrapbook - unbelievable if you knew how shy & nervous I used to be in front of a crowd! I remember getting advice in my Technical Communications class in engineering school that I should find a subject I know and am passionate about and it would be easier to present and more engaging to others, and that advice was right on! I have FOUND my calling with my Stampin' Up! business!
I love stamping, papercrafting, and scrapbooking (including digital scrapbooking, which I fell in love with several years ago), I love showing others how crafty they can be, and I love challenging myself!
