Frilly Very Vintage Vogue Eyelet Lace

My upline Joyce and her sideline Sue and I got together recently during the Black Hills Stock Show to stamp and gab...what fun!  We each brought projects along to make, and this was one of Sue's that I made, using the Vintage Vogue stamp set and Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel:

Make your own Eyelet Lace from card stock

Here's how we made that pretty Vintage Vogue eyelet lace from Whisper White card stock:

• Roll the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel #117693 over a strip of Whisper White Card Stock #100730 in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink #100908.
• Punch one long edge of this with your Eyelet Border Punch #113692.
• Lay a line of Sticky Strip #104294 along the top (unpunched) edge of your card stock and remove the liner.
• Ruffle and fold the strip as desired.
• With a Sponge Dauber #102892 ink the edges of your ruffle with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and affix to your project with another application of Sticky Strip.

Pretty, yes?

Star Wars Tie-Fighter Video Tutorial Plus More

Bloopers and all, this video takes you through how I created a Star Wars Tie-Fighter gift box for my nephew's birthday Nintendo DS gift!  Darth Vader would be pleased with my resourcefulness (or would he put me in a choke hold for goofing up the wings?).

As I point out in the notes over the video, to create your hexagon wings, which is what I had set out to do instead of the octagons, cut a 6" circle from a piece of copy paper to make your pattern.  Fold the circle in half, then into thirds as you would for snowflake cutting.  Then cut the curve on the raw ends off straight.  Open up and you've got your hexagon pattern that you can trace onto your card stock!


To create your triangles for your wing panels from your hexagon, cut one triangle from your pattern piece, whack off 1/4" from two sides, then proceed as I did with the grid paper drawing to figure out your strip and cutting of the triangles.


You'll need to adjust the middle to fit your gift, but by following my methods I describe in the video, you can do it!

A woman walked into the office of the personnel manager of a large company and said:

“I’ve decided to come and work for your company, but there are a few things I feel you should be aware of before I start. First of all, I will only be working a couple of days a week and when I do come in, it’ll only be for about three hours at a time.

Stampin' Up! Winter Olympics

I'm looking forward to another week of Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, how 'bout you?

• I tried a little something different than my usual with this card and started with Glossy White Card Stock, stamped Baroque Motifs in clear VersaMark ink and heat embossed that in Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder with my Heat Tool.
• Then I sponged Classic Inks in circular motions:  Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, and Night of Navy in that order, leaving the center mostly untouched.
• The final touch was to use Heat and Stick Powder to adhere Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter on Bashful Blue Card Stock with a stamp from the Circle Circus stamp set, using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for perfect interlocking Olympic rings placement.  A few cuts with my Paper Snips, some SNAIL adhesive to mount that piece to a Night of Navy Card Stock layer and then to the Whisper White card base, and the card was done!
