Kindred Christmas

I just love the Kindred Spirits stamp set. Here I've stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed in Clear EP. It makes the image a darker monotone accent on the Riding Hood Red cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Hostess set Best Yet.

Mom's been busy again...I think she might still be stamping left-handed since her shoulder surgery, but you'd never know! She whipped up these tile coasters that Teresa showed us how to make. Very nice, Mom!

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true friend gave to me

Twelve Gift Bags

Eleven Candy Santas

Ten Ornament Cards

Nine Pop-Up Cards

Eight Trinket Tags

Seven Sparkly Greetings

Six Cards in a Box

Five Stocking Stuffers

Four Place Settings

Three Christmas Ornaments

Two Countdown Calendars

and a Handmade Holiday Planner.

I love how the Christmas tree ball shines light right back at you. I found some little white paper bags at Hobby Lobby to build my top note bag from. The image idea was inspired by and CASEd from Julie Case, who does beautiful work!

I cut 2 Top Note shapes for each bag then cut down the bags to 3-3/4" tall. After stamping the front, I layered the front and back together and punched the handle with the Small Oval Punch. The 8" length of Riding Hood Taffeta Ribbon was tied in a knot and attached with a Mini Glue Dot, and the handle is secured with about 10" of Gold Elastic Cord.

Here's how I reverse masked the Christmas ball ornament image:

First, I cut a circle from a piece of clear acetate using my coluzzle, leaving plenty of acetate around the hole so that I room for sponging without getting ink on the card where I didn't want it. I used 3 small zips of SNAIL on my Grid Paper to hold the acetate down over the Top Note front that I had already secured down with a dab of SNAIL.

Next I stamped my Spotlight on Christmas poinsettia image in 3 places over the hole using Riding Hood Red Classic Ink, and the flourish stamp from that set in the blank spots, leaving the center blank.

Then I used a wedge of Stamping Sponge that I dabbed just twice on the ink pad, and in a circular motion I rubbed the ink around the edges, leaving the center white. While I went around I was picking up the excess ink from stamping partly off the hole. I made sure to make the lower left part of the ornament darker for some nice shading. I also went in both directions to eliminate any telltale signs of sponging streaks. The feeling is as if you are sponging "into" the sharp edge of the hole in the acetate, which gives a nice clean edge.

Here's your supply list for this project. If I you need anything, please click the Shop Now button on my Stampin' Up! website at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net/ and choose me, Michelle Tech, as your demonstrator if you don't already have one!

Five Stocking Stuffers

These little Santas are a nice thing to have on hand for holiday gifts...stocking stuffers, office gifts, classmate trinkets, etc. And they were super easy to make since they are built around delicious Andes Peppermint Crunch candies!

I inked up the Deer Friends Santa stamp in Riding Hood Red, then with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Journaler's large end, I inked over the writing around the circle. Just to make sure the ink was still wet, I huffed on my stamp before I stamped the image on Whisper White CS. The stamped image was punched out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, layered with a 1-3/8" Circle Punch in Basic Black CS, and then popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional onto a Real Red CS Scallop Circle Punch. That was SNAILed onto the candy, then 8" of 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon was tied in a knot with a 9" piece of Gold Elastic Cord cord tied in a bow over that to emulate his belt and buckle in a stylized way.

You can order all of the Stampin' Up! supplies from my online "Shop Now" button at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net/ if you need anything. Just print out this post and mark what you need in the table:

This flock of 10 cards is a little different...it's not folded, but there's a strip on the back to write your greeting. See the card in the middle that is turned around?

I used nontraditional colors for these cards: Pacific Point and Bashful Blue. Each clear acetate circle that was cut using the Coluzzle was rimmed in White StazOn ink before attaching the white and blue papers. To match the curve I just trimmed the layers while following the clear acetate circle after the layers were already glued on...first attach the front layers, trim, then attach the back and trim.

I know, I know...again with the faux Stickles?!!! I'm having too much with it to put it down!

To make this ornament card you'll need the following Stampin' Up! products, which can be ordered at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net/ anytime. If you do not have a demonstrator, please choose me, Michelle Tech, to get the best price.

Look at this little army of pop-up cards! See how the one in the back on the stand is folded up and fits in a medium envelope? Pretty cool! There's also a flattened in front on the left.

Here's the card, made with the stamp set I love...A Holly, Jolly Christmas. It reminds me of those Burl Ives Christmas cartoon specials from a while back that I treasure.

I made this batch of cards assembly-line style after I designed the first one.

I stamped as many images as I could on my Whisper White cardstock since I'd be cutting them out with my Paper Snips.

Here I've laid out all of my cut, stamped, and embossed pieces. The Close to Cocoa base has been wheeled with the Jolly wheel and an uninked cartridge with VersaMark reinker on it. Then I followed these instructions (thanks Teresa!) for the cutting and scoring dimensions and cutting the slit. I added a tiny slit on the back with the Hobby Blade to push the tree trunk into.

Rudolph got a faux dew drop nose made with Crystal Effects and Riding Hood Red reinker.

I love this forest of cards:

On the eighth day of Christmas my true friend gave to me

Eight Trinket Tags

Seven Sparkly Greetings

Six Cards in a Box

Five Stocking Stuffers

Four Place Settings

Three Christmas Ornaments

Two Countdown Calendars

and a Handmade Holiday Planner.

Make your gift giving stylish this year with these Trinket Tags, holly complete with my faux dew drops and presented in nicely topped cello bags. These were inspired by and CASEd from my online friend Mary Fish's Holiday Magnets.

The top sheet is done in all In Colors for a soft vintage feel, and the bottom sheet is done in Ski Slope Designer Series and matching cardstock. I've done glitter 4 ways on these: 2-Way Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds to highlight shine streaks on one ornament so I could get it right where I wanted it, a Mini Glue Dot with Fine Cosmo Glitter pressed into for a decorated tree, VersaMark inked on my stamp before inking again with Pink Pirouette so that I could heat emboss Iridescent Ice EP on it, and lastly my faux Stickles made by mixing Dazzling Diamonds into Crystal Effects to flow over the entire Baja Breeze blue star.

Here's what you need to make these quick and easy gift tags:

On the Sixth Day of Christmas

On the Sixth Day of Christmas my true friend gave to me

Six Cards in a Box

Five Stocking Stuffers

Four Place Settings

Three Christmas Ornaments

Two Countdown Calendars

and a Handmade Holiday Planner.

I love the Holiday Trinkets stamp set, so it seemed fitting to make 6 cards in a gift box for the Sixth Day of Christmas. I used In Colors for the cards since they have a vintage Christmas feel.

I stamped the clear acetate box lid with White StazOn Ink and my Bold Snowflakes Jumbo Wheel. The corner of the box is decorated with the holly and berries stamp from the Holiday Trinkets set using Handsome Hunter Classic Ink and my faux dew drops tinted with Riding Hood Red reinker.

For the box instructions, go here and scroll down to the Snowman Sandwiches part. You can see where I put Sticky Strip on the box base and lid since I haven't removed the red liner material yet in this photo:

On the Fifth Day of Christmas

On the fifth day of Christmas my true friend gave to me

Five Stocking Stuffers

Four Place Settings

Three Christmas Ornaments

Two Countdown Calendars

and a Handmade Holiday Planner.

This Snowman Soup would make a great gift for someone in your office:

Chocolate would fill this Pillow Box nicely:

Who doesn't need a cute Lip Balm for winter? This holder dresses it up:

To be able to emboss Santa in Clear EP, I first stamped onto my VersaMark pad then onto my Riding Hood Red Classic Ink Pad. It doesn't appear to adversely affect the pad. To emboss his boots in black, I filled in that part already-stamped-in-red with my VersaMarker then heat embossed them in Black EP.
This gift was inspired by Renee O., who provided this template here on SCS:

This clear acetate Gift Basket would be nice little thank you gift for a teacher. My online friend Mary Fish has a great tutorial on putting together the die-cut basket, with a bonus tutorial on the crimped paper shreds for filling.

And don't forget to make up some hostess gifts like these Snowman Sandwiches (peppermint patties) for taking to holiday gatherings:

To color his carrot nose, I first inked up my stamp in Pacific Point, then with a Blender Pen I took the blue color OFF the nose part of the stamp, then added the orange back on the stamp with a cleaned off Blender Pen.

Here's how to make any box:

On Stampin' Up! Grid Paper, lay down what you are wanting to box up (could be cards, in this case it's my snowman sandwiches) and draw around them. Lay your items (or stack of cards, etc.) on edge and that is the width you need to add to all 4 sides (see the middle snowman sandwich on edge?). That is the box base.

Your box lid (mine is clear) should be 1/8" larger than your total box base dimensions...I wrote down on my Grid Paper that my box base is 2-7/8" x 6-1/2", so my box lid should be cut to 3" x 6-5/8".

Now you're going to score all 4 sides of both the box base and lid by the width of your items...mine was 1/2", which is what I drew for my sides. See why the Grid Paper makes this easy?

Fold and set all 4 sides with a bone folder. Cut one slice into each corner piece on the long side of all 4 corners to the scored line, and add a piece of Sticky Strip to all 4 corners. Adhere that tab to the inside of the box. Repeat for the lid and you're done!

Here's what you'll need to make my 5 stocking stuffers. Print out this post and use the table as your checklist, then visit my Stampin' Up! website's "Shop Now" button at http://2stampis2b.stampinup.net/ to order what you need. To get the best pricing you'll need to select a Demonstrator. If you don't have one, I hope you choose me, Michelle Tech!
